Sustainability
Babcock & Brown Power recognises that its activities have broad implications on the society, environment and communities in which it operates and that it has a responsibility to minimise any adverse impacts.
As a publicly listed entity, BBP also has an obligation to operate profitably while seeking to grow Securityholder value over the long term.
BBP believes these two key objectives are mutually supporting and that BBP can prosper financially over the long-term, in a responsible and sustainable way.
Sustainability objectives are imbedded into all areas of BBP’s operations and subsequent performance; including in its business plan, policies and operating standards, and through the company’s corporate culture and senior management group’s performance objectives. BBP has an Executive Sustainability Committee that supports the Board and management to fulfil these objectives in the areas of health and safety, the environment and the community. The Sustainability committee is further supported by specific safety and environmental leadership committees that include representatives from across the business.
